Review Diaries (Wild World by Deepak Arora)

Name of the book- Wild World by Deepak Arora.
Stars given- 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
This made my week to be honest, I just couldn't have asked for a better weekend read.
The book cover made me remember Moogli or Jungle Book to be exact and I had to had to had to read it. Yeaps. I ignored all my grammar lessons and tamed my grammar Nazi to sleep so that I could express just how much I looked forward to this book. And boy oh boy it didn't disappoint me at all.
The animals at the helm of the story was a cool idea but one thing you realize that just how much cruelty these wonderful creatures are facing in reality.
As someone who is a very frequent visitor at the zoo I felt my heart break many times in the story.
QOTD - Do you feel Zoos are a cruel place to keep animals?

Review Diaries (Weapons of Kalki: The Book of Love - Book 1 by Ritika Kochhar)

Name of the book - Weapons of Kalki: The Book of Love - Book 1 by Ritika Kochhar.
Stars given- 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Mythology is one of my favorite genres cause it reminds me of my childhood and everything good in it.
Retellings are also fun for they give you someone else's take in the story that you have heard many times before in the past.
So this one was one of those reads that a friend suggested knowing my love for mythology and retellings and then I absolutely loved it.
The narration was very amazing and made you see the story like a movie in your mind.
QOTD - What's your favorite mythological story?

Review Diaries (The Chronicle of Golgotha Days by Sujith Balakrishnan)

Name of the book - The Chronicle of Golgotha Days by Sujith Balakrishnan.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Honest confession, I cried big scary tears after finishing this book.
Hell I even called a few of my brothers up and spoke to them, needless to say I made them cry as well.
Imagine a world where a kid of sixteen is brutally abused day in and out that leaves her broken mentally, physically and emotionally. Wait, you don't need to for this book is based on a true story. I asked my brothers one question, 'How can someone hurt anyone like this?' and later I realized how wrong it was of me to question them. They have never been abusive to anyone and asking them how can a man do this to a little girl broke their hearts as well.
What can I say other than this that I will send one prayer for all the survivors of abuse and also one for the tormentors so that they can be come human beings instead of just looking like one.
This book made me very emotional so I would rather pen down a poem than say anything else.
Love made her do it all,
Starting from the blind faith to the heartbreaking fall.
She never knew trouble so didn't thinking of looking for it,
The warning signs that many ignored and she did repeat.
And got dragged by her hair to the depths of hell,
Without a soul around to share her anguished tale.
But then she came back to her shelter of the soul.
But the tongues of the society didn't toll.
Like many other cases they kept mum or played the blame game.
The old wicked wolf and little girl's crimes were the same.
Love, one for love of love and the other for money, power or greed may be.
But it doesn't matter cause it's only her mistake one can see.
A pray for a time when cruelty isn't a norm for the bigger,
Where only laughter, joy and peace linger.

Review Diaries (Shhh! Don't Talk about Mental Health: Why Being Quiet Is No Longer an Option by Arjun Gupta)

Name of the book- Shhh! Don't Talk about Mental Health: Why Being Quiet Is No Longer an Option by Arjun Gupta.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So firstly I think this is one of those books that everyone should read. Mental health is something that everyone should be concerned about. Physical health is something that we see everyone taking care of but we forget that our mind is the strongest as well as the weakest link in our body. Without proper care and love we might just make our mind our worst liability rather than make it our biggest strength.
As someone who has gone through a phase of acute depression at times I don't like it when people use words like OCD and depression lightly and ask the person going through it to 'get over it'.
I had lost 12 kilos in one week, I forgot to smile and almost got into an accident because I was busy getting my lines done. My parents and friends were a big help.
So I too would like to point out that if anyone ever needs someone to help them or even listen to them I am just a text or phone call away.
