Review Diaries (Room No. 17 by Shravan Masand)

Name of the book - Room No. 17 by Shravan Masand.
Stars given - 4 out if 5 stars.
My take on the book-
If I go with solely the story then it's kinda a cool read. I mean what is there not the like, friends - check, having fun - check, being naughty- check and some thing supernatural - hell to the yeah check.
It's a story about friends from the 9th Standard.
So I liked it, the most interesting part was the fact that this book is in Roman. This is a first for me and I am hoping it happens more in the future.
But if I could point something out I would say that the language of the kids did not need to be so, for lack of a better word crass.
Horror junkies can give it a try, cause story wise it is nice.
But the language kinda takes something away from the plot, and that is my personal opinion.
QOTD - Ever had Cheese and Bonvita together?
I did today and it changed my life.

Review Diaries (Last Avatar (Age of Kalki #1) by Vishwas Mudagal)

Name of the book - Last Avatar (Age of Kalki #1) by Vishwas Mudagal.
Stars given- 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So when I first saw the book I was like, OMG!!!! I havta read this one. And boy oh boy, ain't I glad.
The cover makes you expect a lot from the book and the story so delivers it on spades.
It takes of like a aeroplane, slowly on the runway and off it's goes.
I spent something around 5 hours and finished the entire thing.
I mean sleep is so overated, don't you think?
This is my third book about Kalki and this one too I enjoyed a lot.
Apocalypse as a concept used to seem like a distant nightmare, but now a days it feels like a prophecy that might just come true, if we don't clean up our act.
What say?

Review Diaries ( The Humming bird by Shreeyash Kokate)

Book - The Hummingbird
Author - Shreeyash Kokate
Stars given - 4 in 5 stars.
My take on the book-
This a collection of poems that will remind you a lot of William Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience.
And it could not have come in my life at a better time.
I am going through some ups and downs and what nots and this one was like hearing a lot of my words, only this time in black and white.
People who like poems should totally give this one a read.

Review Diaries (Shadows of the Past by Jeena R. Papaadi)

Name of the book - Shadows of the Past by Jeena R. Papaadi.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book -
Imagine reading a good story and your whole day is made, right?
Now imagine reads a boat load of short stories, all amazing in their own way.
Awesome sauce!!! RIGHT?
I am glad that my friend, Priyambada, suggested this one to me. Thanks love.
So each story gives you something to think about and you carry these with you long after you have finished the book.
The language of the book is pretty straight forward.
And my rainy day was made better.
Exam on the 25th, so off I go but tell me something, do you believe in coincidences?
Why I ask, you say!
Well to know more you have to read the book.

Review Diaries (The Mysterious Widows of Mehboobpura By Anuradha Singh)

Name of the book - The Mysterious Widows of Mehboobpura
By Anuradha Singh.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Ever read a book that made you cry and also cheer at the same time?
This book did it for me.
I am someone who comes from a family where everyone is in service, some branch or another. And I kid you not it's scary. Looking back at my childhood, I never knew what a Sunday was. You see my Bapu, a cop didn't have any regular off days. So for me Sunday was a no-school day.
Now coming back to the story, the courageous women who day in and day out take care of the home and the world and all the while they are doing all this in the background. They go through so much, the fear of their loved ones fighting for the country, the anxiety of getting a phone call, the pain of hearing the news of their loved ones not making it. And to top it all bad-bad-bad men are trying and many times succeeding in taking advantage of them.
But boy oh boy, how they take back the power.
I really loved the book and am giving it a big candy floss from my private collection.

Review Diaries (Tick Tock)

There comes a time when you read a book and be completely charmed by it.
This pictoral book made me dance in joy.
It doesn't matter what happens in life, take it in stride and keep moving or in many cases go with the flow.
Life will happen and you will reach you destiny selected destination.
I myself am a big believer in the line, that everything happens for a reason.
And this book made me happy in more ways than one.
Loved it
Giving it a hearty 5 on 5 stars.
QOTD - Suggest a good way out to deal with rainy day blues.

Review Diaries (Before You Breathe)

Name of the book - Before You Breathe by Tanushree Podder.
Stars given -5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So this book made me very nostalgic, you see growing up my Nani used to read me story books. She had one big collection of books and choose one from it daily. So detective stories somehow made a big impression on me from the beginning. Be it Feluda or Kakababu, I loved them all. There were times she read me some Holmes as well. Thus reading this book took me back to my childhood and I made an audiobook out of it and made my Mimi hear it.
Hehe.
But coming back to the book, it's an awesome read.
The story never loses momentum and keeps you hooked till the end.
I liked the starting very much, the scene makes you feel like you are there seeing the entire thing unfold in front of your eyes.
QOTD - What is freedom for you?

Review Diaries (A Twisted Tale: Story of Manipal by Anand Kumar)

Name of the book - A Twisted Tale: Story of Manipal by Anand Kumar.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So this book couldn't have come at a better time.
You see I am going through a few major changes in my life and so did the character in the book.
I used to be a very, ahem fine… a somewhat popular person, with tons of friends in school. And that changed over the years through College and University, only a chosen few have made the cut so I find the character in the book very relatable, as I am sure many will too.
From being the it-person to having to make a fresh start, is not only a scary and daunting task but it's character building as well.
You realize something important, that come what may you will be okay at the end of the day.
And that is what I learnt from the book.
Do check it out and let me know what you think about it too.

Review Diaries (Kiss of Salt by Smita Bhattacharya)

Name of the book - Kiss of Salt by Smita Bhattacharya.
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Books are supposed to educate and open our minds to new possibilities.
And this book did that in aces for me. You see I am writing murder mystery and almost everything is done except murder.
Not funny I know, but this book has a not too gory murder.
Me likey a lot.
Currently food poisoning is kicking my ass but I going at my TBR list like a maniac.
For this book I loved the descriptions of Goa, a lot. Been then, seen it all and loved it.
The characters were very real and relatable.
Like there was this one character who seemed like a clone of someone I know. That person will remain un-named cause the concerned person is follows me.
🙈🙈🙈.
Ps watcha waiting for read it and let me know how you like it.

Review Diaries (Knotty Affairs by Chirag Bagadia)

Name of the book - Knotty Affairs by Chirag Bagadia
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So there are two things I like in a book, one is drama and the second is even more drama.
And this book had it in pools.
The narrative was fun and very fast paced in the first half but in the second half of the book it dragged a bit for me.
And being someone who is very close to her parents I can not imagine a time when I can think of leaving them.
I know I sound silly and immature but that's me and this is my life.
Coming back to the story, I don't think I can ever be with someone who isn't close to his parents. I am super duper close to mine, so yeaps that will be a deal breaker for me.
QOTD - What's your take?

Review Diaries (The Curse of Anuganga by Harini Srinivasan)

Name of the book- The Curse of Anuganga by Harini Srinivasan.
Stars given -5 on 5 stars
My take on the book-
I loooooooooooooved it.
Imagine a historical retelling, which is done with lots of liberties. Lots of glitz and glamour of the King's kingdom and then comes the gripping story.
I am someone who doesn't really like History the subject, the one I have to read and write answers on.
But story history I adore.
I can hear it day in and day out.
Another important thing I want to mention here is that the parents are amazing, they are so supportive of their child's dreams that every parent should read this book to understand this important fact.

Review Diaries (A Love Story by Destiny by Deesha Sangani)

Name of the book - A Love Story by Destiny by Deesha Sangani.
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book -
Who is a believer in coincidences?
I am.
But this book had too many of them.
I am not gonna say more about that cause I might just end up giving you spoilers and that's not gonna happen on my watch.
Coming back to the story, it's a full on Bollywood movie, it's got 'Colors of love, laughter and bliss' to being 'shattered again'.
I am someone who needs a bit of drama in her life, hell I thrive on drama, so this was a fun read for me.
But one thing that I didn't like was that there were a few grammatical errors which could have been sorted out with some good editing. This would have cost the book some stars had I not liked the thrill it packed.
