Review Diaries (The Conspiracy Unknown : Book 1 – The Vengeance of the fallenAbishek Babu)

Name of the book - The Conspiracy Unknown : Book 1 – The Vengeance of the fallen
Abishek Babu.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
What does one do when they have fever, cough and cold and can barely move their head?
Well… I don't about others but I finished this pretty right here.
Those fortunate soul who know me, just realized that my heart is now all well and I am ready to face the world again cause I just read an amazing book.
Like where do I start?
The storyline is awesome so is the language, last week I read a book that made me reach for my dictionary for more than once and that too not in a good way.
And the cover on this one, Oh my heart!
Warm soup for the soul.
PS another important thing that demands a big pat on the back is the way the entire story is dated!
Kudos!!!

Jokes apart I really liked this one, trust me you will too.
Easy language, fast paced story, unputdownable thriller. Monday made good.

Review Diaries (A Ticklish Affair and Other Stories by Sunil Kapoor and Sudhir Kapoor)

Name of the book - A Ticklish Affair and Other Stories by Sunil Kapoor and Sudhir Kapoor.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book -
As a self proclaimed, not so much of a lover of short stories I really liked this one.
You see every single story had a proper ending, closure if you may say. There is betrayal and justice, there is love and remorse and what not.
This is one gem of a collection that everyone should have.
Me very likey.

Name of the book-  It's Not Only Love by Jeetendra Wadhwani.
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Growing up I had a few people on my side, who knockwood are still there by me.
They have loved me and kicked my ass in gear, they have fought for me and with me when needed and this book made me remember it all.
Times change, circumstances change, even our address changes, but to have the same people by your side is a blessing.
Simple language and heart touching plot… Me likey.

Review Diaries (Temple Classroom by Puja Roy)

Name of the book - Temple Classroom by Puja Roy.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars
My take on the book-
I read this one in a day, actually no scratch that, I finished it in less than 2 hours.
Today was moving and painting day for me, so lots of work and dust and what not. I so needed a break and lo & behold comes this book delivered right at my door steps.
Like OMG! Cute cover and I jumped, rather dived right in.
The stories, yes lots of bite sized short stories, and I just gobbled them all up.
I liked the Author's style, she took people from every day life and gave us stories that we can almost see and not just read.
I just had one issue, but that again is an issue I have with short stories in general and that is that you never know what happens in the end.

Review Diaries (FROSTED GLASS by SABARNA ROY)

Name of the book - FROSTED GLASS by
SABARNA ROY.
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So everyone is allowed one weakness, right?
Like some sort of a kryptonite that we keep under lock and key, lest people find it and use it against us.
For me it's Calcutta.
Yeah, I know I am supposed to keep it a secret but I love my city too much to keep our love a secret.
So, here I am reading a story that has Calcutta in a way that's almost seems like my lady love is the central protagonist of it all.
Don't believe me, read this cool collection.
All the stories are different and yet they are all connected in one way or another.
Personally these kinds of stories are really interesting.
This is my third book by the author and needless to say I am really impressed my his work.

Review Diaries (The Carol of the Reactors by Vishal Suchak)

My take on the book-
Who has watched the movie about the Umbrella corporation and how Red Queen takes over the world?

Then you are bound to love this one.
An absolute delightful read which grips you from the get go.
There are two of places where you hear a reference or two and want to high five the writer… You ask reason behind this excitement?
I give you two words Pop and Culture.
So yeaps I was a very happy girl.

Review Diaries (Guru Nanak Shah Faqir Hindu Ka Guru Musalman Ka Peer by Principal (Dr.) S.S. Minhas)

Book - Guru Nanak Shah Faqir Hindu Ka Guru Musalman Ka Peer
Author - Principal (Dr.) S.S. Minhas
Stars given - Well, I give it all my heart. How does that sound?
My take on the book-
I am someone who has Faith, in lots and loads.
I believe there is God and for me She is my Ma.
I have been taught by my Nani and Mimi that Ma is there for me, always. She will give me love and affection and guide me through thick and thin in life. Technically my love for Ma is something that I inherited.
There is another thing that I got from these amazing women in my life and that is love and acceptance and have always kept an open mind towards ideas that are different from mine. Be it about religion or any other believe, make it a point to know more and adopt all the good that I hear in them.
This book made me realize so much, it was informative and very heart warming.
We all know that Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the first Sikh Guru, did anyone of you know that He traveled far and wide?
He went to Kashmir, Leh, Tibet and also to Sikkim and also visited Rome. There are many amazing stories about those visits, my favorite being about the demon He defeated in the most peaceful way.
Loved it.
I have attached the meaning of the MOOL MANTRA.
PS having Faith is something that makes me feel strong and have courage. It might not be the same with you and I will never force my belief or Faith on you, but you certainly can't stop me from saying a little prayer for you.
Yes, that's Me.

Review Diaries (Book - Garden Tales: Revenge of the Intruder by Colonel Pradeep Goswami/

Book - Garden Tales: Revenge of the Intruder
Author - Colonel Pradeep Goswami
Stars given- 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
As someone who grew up listening to stories from my Nani this book brought back old memories.
I went back to being a kid of 5 and adored every word.
The story is a about adventures, the ones you wanted to have as a child, the ones you did end up having in secret and now have tales to tell your nieces and nephews.
It's about a doggie pie, yeah you heard me talk in a cute tone, and how this little nugget has many adventures.
Needless to say I loved it and am gonna get my Mimi to read it to me like my Nani used to do.
It's my birthday, on the 16th. This kinda wishes do come true.
QOTD- What's your favorite birthday ritual?

Review Diaries (The Hawa Mahal Murders by N.J.Kulkarni)

Name of the book - The Hawa Mahal Murders by N.J.Kulkarni.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
Before I start with my take on this one, I wanna say something.
Remember that smell that we all go gaga over, the one that we book lovers are always waxing poetry on?
This book had it, it bucket loads.
I read and smelled and lost myself in this thriller.
Most books, nowadays don't have that breath arresting smell to be honest.
Firstly cause I am opting to get myself ebooks, doing my part in saving the environment.
And secondly the paper used is different, for the books that I am getting.
Now enough of my love for the book and now for the story. It's awesome, the cover does justice to the blood drenched story in it. The characters are well portrayed and I adored it.
It was the best 5 hours of my life, when I saw a movie in my head, all the while smelling the amazing book smell.
PS I have decided, I will get myself a perfume that smells of books.

Review Diaries (Retirement Planning by R K Mohapatra)

Name of the book - Retirement Planning by R K Mohapatra.
Stars given - 4 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
I am someone who is big on savings.
I mean ask my Mimi, she gets very upset with me for this particular habit of mine.
If I have money, I will save it. Period.
Or it's getting spent on books or food.
But mostly I would save every penny I can, yet not get to see a substantial amount of savings.
This book made sure I realized what it is that I am doing wrong.
Needless to say I took lots and loads of notes that I will surely use in the future.
More over I will be suggesting my peps to give this one a read too.
The book is an absolute gem.
The language is very straight forward and to the point.
And the way everything is explained, it is very easy to get it.
QOTD - What do you do with your savings?
I eat, read or write with them.

My take on the book-
Have you seen the movie Main Hu Na?
Or read books on spies that are trying to fix or well unfix situations, like the protagonist from the series The Family Man?
Then this book will make your evening, as it did for me.

Review Diaries (History of Ancient India Revisited, A Vedic-Puranic View by Omesh K. Chopra)

Book - History of Ancient India Revisited, A Vedic-Puranic View.
Author - Omesh K. Chopra.
Stars given - 4 out of 5 stars.
My take on the book-
For those out there who know me and are smirking seeing that I am, without any poking of any sort, reading a book on history… go away. This book was kinda interesting.
Currently I am reading a lot of books regarding history of India, be it of the ancient times or middle ages or modern days. I  reading it all and this one gave many different ideas about things I read an far. There were times the reading felt a bit monotonous, but I opted to have some coffee and then dive back in. The language of the book is very straight. Many of the things mentioned here is still on my mind and coming Wednesday I intend to ask my history teacher to talk more about it. Sometimes I feel history should be taught like a story book is read and not made into a big scary text book that needs to be feared. The chapter division was distinctive and thus one can simply pick and choose what to read first.
Needless to say I throughly enjoyed this read.
PS what's your favorite reading accessory?

Review Diaries (The Camphor of Night by Samir Satam)

Name of the book - The Camphor of Night by Samir Satam.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So November is my absolute favorite month and this the first book I read in my most favorite month of the year. Needless to say I am happy and all very giggly and if this is any indication of how my month is going to go, reading wise…. I am in for a treat.
Amazing collection of poems and the emotions are there, filled to the brim.
I took this one with me to class today and a fellow student asked if I was reading a book on photography, cause cover really catches the eye.
And no points for guessing that she is getting a copy for her birthday.
The only problem I had was with the lack of rhyme there was in this book.
Does it mean that the essence of the poetry is lost?
No, but for me rhyme is the key to an amazing poem.
QOTD - What's your favorite season?
Mine is winter, specially in November.
